The original front wrapper has been tipped on to the front cover. Fine/good copy. Very rare publication in Dutch . Second edition. The author explains the possibilities of Minnesota to would-be Dutch immigrants. The map traces the railroad network which is going te be constructed from St. Paul and Saint Anthony to a point between the foot of Big Stone Lake and the mouth of Sioux Wood River. All this according an act of ''Grants of Land to the Territory of Minnesota'' decided by the Senate and the House on March 3 1857 and March 3 1865. The publication gives exhaustive information on Minnesota. The author describes it a an area ideally suited for settlement of Dutch farmers and foresees it becoming an agricultural centre in the US. Minneapolis is already a city with a population of 5000 !. This publication is very rare. Only one copy outside the Netherlands ( British Library ) ; no copy in the United States. (Wordcat March 2019). Sabin 38056 describes the first edition which comprises only 54 pp and seems to be without a map.."
