With an engraved title-page , after a design by Cornelis Schut, engraved by Karel de Mallery. Printed dedication to Nicolas Rockox. Bound in contemporary full leather, decorated gilt spine with gilt title. Sprinkled edges. Binding with severe wear, especially at the spine, with loss of leather , headbands completely gone. Both joints cracked. Bookblock solid and in good order, With minimal stains on the inside, the engraved title page in very good condition. Some worming in the margin of the last 20 leaves. Still a good/fine copy. With no provenance indication. See De Backer-Sommervogel Vol. VIII col. 84. The jesuit author Jan de Tollenaere ( Brugge 1582 - Antwerpen 1653 ) was 3 times superior at the Antwerp Jesuit College and also Provincial superior of the Southern Netherlands.
