Bruxelles, Imprimerie de J. De Wallens et Cie., 1834, in-8°, 600 pp , bound in comtemporary half roan, boards covered with marbled paper, marbled endpapers and edges, fine copy of the first edition. Text in French. The author was a Belgian revolutionary, writer and journalist. He advocated a social catholicism some 50 years before the Papal letter '' Rerum Novarum''. He famously quarelled with Karl Marx who called him ''mehr Theokrat als Democrat''.
