Complete issue , as published. Text in German, but also sometimes articles or literary contributions in English or French. Condition: fine. (but with tiny traces of mice hunger at some edges). Contains e.g. contributions by Emile Haraszti, Michael Fry , Johans Stieber, Hans Bethge , Michael Sostschenko.... This is the penultimate issue which contains at pp. 555 the ''Fremdwörterbuch'', satyrical definitions . Nazi censorship could not forgive these mild satire and the publication was stopped. Founded by Wilhelm Graf Kielmansegg, edited by Alfred Flechtheim, Herman von Wedderkop, Viktor Wittner a.o.'' Der Querschnitt'' was the most sophisticated of the general-cultural, literary and artistic monthlies published in Germany during the Interbellum. Till 1933 it was the platform for left-intellectual and avant-garde orientated artists and writers, with a very international character. The graphic aspect of the periodical was also very important with in each issue photo reproduction of major photographs, and also graphic contributions by George Grosz , Frans Masereel , Picasso, Jean Cocteau. In 1933, issue 4, the periodical was no longer published by Propyläen-Verlag . It came under the influence of the Nazi regime. These issues are very hard to find. Price is for this issue.
