On the title page a dated manuscript ex-libris of Joannes Bartholomaei Bindari Tigurini , 1572. On the opposite fly leaf a manuscript ex libris of '' Fr. Zollt (?) ''. USTC N° 662231. VD H 2496. This is the second Basle edition. The first was from 1534 and bears on the title the printer's name, which is absent in this second edition. Rare , only two copies in the USTC list. Herodianus ( 175 - 249 ) was a Roman historian who wrote in Greek. This text describes the lives 17 Roman emperors starting with Commodius, Pertinax, Didius Julianus...His style and method is clearly inspired by the classical Greek tradition of Thucydides. On the provenance; In 1619 was published by Ioh. Rodolphi Wolphii a '' Epicea in obitum rev. & doct. viri..;Io. Bartholomaei Binderi, collegi abbatissani Tig. inspectoris fidiss. pié Christo defuncti die 17. ianuarii 1619.''.."
