Bound in contemporary full calf, raised gilt spine, edges painted red, marbled endpapers. Binding with some wear at the corners, with small loss of leather, upper joint broken but holding. Interior with some faint stains but in all still a good copy. With the printed bookplate of ''D. Beaussier'' tipped in on the first paste down. First edition of the French translation. (Poggendorf I/552-3 ). The plates show [1] the solar system ; [2] the visible side of the moon ; [3] Saturn. [ cosmology ; astronomy ; theology ]."‎
