In-folio de XXIII-[1]-202-[2] pages, cartonnage recouvert de papier dominoté brun, étiquette de titre verte, reliure un peu frottée, rousseurs aux premiers et derniers feuillets. Non rogné. Inscription ancienne à la plume au verso du premier feuillet de garde.
Illustré d'une vignette de titre, d'un portrait de Leonard en bandeau et un portrait de Alberti en bandeau, de 4 beaux culs-de-lampe et de 19 planches hors-texte dessinées par Girolamo Contoli, gravées par G. Zaugg, artiste de la fin du XXe siècle, et L.B. Alberti, artiste du début du XVe siècle. La conversation gravite autour du texte intitulé "De Pictura", écrit en 1436 par L.B. Alberti." - Dos légèrement frotté.

The book's typography is styled after its renowned subject. The author, a researcher at the Technical University of Delft, was the first to attribute the Hypnerotomachia to Alberti, a humanist wanting to defend his views when he was sacked by the pope after thirty years of service.
