Description of the history and main holdings of the Mayer van den Bergh Museum in Antwerp. This collection which consists mainly of mediaeval ,14th and 15th century european art was formed at the end of the 19th century and contains some first class objects such as paintings by Brueghel and the famous Flemish breviary which bears his name. This publication is of particular interest because it details the way in which this enlightened and rich collector proceeded in forming his collection. Text in English.‎
