New parchment binding (by Jan Camps) The first pages and last pages were restored, new parchment binding with closing ribbons, title page in red and black ink, frontispiece portrait of Fabricius, part I (42) + 568 + (36), part II: (34) + 436 + (34), browning and moisture stains, Wilhelm Fabry (also William Fabry, Guilelmus Fabricius Hildanus or Fabricius von Hilden) (June 25, 1560 - February 15, 1634), often called the "Father of German Surgery", was the first well-trained and scientific German surgeon. He is one of the most prominent scientists and the author of twenty medical books. His Observationum et Curationum Chirurgicarum Centuriae, published posthumously in 1641, is the best collection of case reports of the century and provides a clear insight into the variety and methods of his surgical practice. He developed new surgical techniques and new surgical instruments
