Donetsk native Nikolai Petrovich Glushchenko fled to Europe with the Denikin army, settled in Paris, where he was influenced by the coryphean painters of his time, mainly impressionists. Paris was hard to be surprised, but Glushchenko was not lost in the artistic crowd; his works were on display in the halls of the Autumn Salon, the Salon of the Independent, the Tuileries Gallery.
