Chernikhov Yakov Georgievich (1889-1951) - Soviet architect, graphic artist, painter, and theorist of architecture. He graduated from the Odessa Art School (then a branch of the Imperial Academy of Arts), the painting department of the Academy of Arts, as well as from the Higher Pedagogical Courses. In 1916 he moved to the Architecture Faculty, where he studied under the guidance of L.N. Benoit. In 1927 he founded the Scientific Research Experimental Laboratory of Architectural Forms and Graphic Methods in Leningrad.
