He studied at the main pedagogical institute was an inspector of schools of the St. Petersburg Educational District and a vowel of the St. Petersburg City Duma. In 1898 he established a prize of his own name at the Academy of Sciences for his works in the field of the science of the Russian language. He published a collection of translations from Russian fabelschatz (Treasure of Russian Fabelschatz 1890) and a valuable collection of typical expressions of the Russian language with parallels in several ancient and New European languages - Walking and apt words which subsequently formed the basis of the Experience of Russian Phraseology We have thousands of titles and often several copies of each title may be available.
