Published by Platon Beketov. 50 engraved portraits of eighteenth and nineteenth-century figures in five notebooks although 180 portraits were awarded. After accumulating a huge amount of material and seeking more and more completeness Beketov did not manage to publish it in full during his lifetime although he lovingly processed his materials until his death. After P.P. Beketov's death all 306 boards awarded by his diligence were ceded in 1837 to the brothers I.V. and P.V. Kireevsky who issued them in 1844 in two issues: Images of people famous or something remarkable belonging by birth or merit to Malorossiya 42 engraved portraits and in 1843 Portraits of famous men of the Russian Church 40 engraved portraits We have thousands of titles and often several copies of each title may be available.
