Since 1903 - Head of the Department of Hospital Surgery at Tomsk University. Tikhov is the author of more than 100 scientific works, including the monograph Tuberculosis of joints and bones (1909), awarded by the I.F. Bush Prize, and three-volume work Private Surgery (1916-1917), g. Tikhov developed surgery to remove the proximal section of the shoulder bone together with the collarbone and blade.
