‎Summary This book consists of 36 contributions, all of them intended as a memento for professor emeritus Nikola Jak?i? in honour of his 70th birthday. All of the contributions are original scientific papers and all of them are dealing with problems not yet resolved in disciplines of history, art history and archaeology of mostly late antique and medieval period, but later ones as well. All of the papers also deal with problematics that are connected to the territory of today's Croatia or its neighbouring regions in the European context, which is why they are especially relevant for the Croatian national scientific community and its development. Therefore, the scientific impact of this book will be huge if we bear in mind that all the authors did this in order to celebrate professor Jak?i?'s character and deeds.
