Dexter Foothood est un personnage semi-autobiographique de Marlow. Louis Marlow était le pseudonyme de Louis Umfreville Wilkinson (1881-1966), auteur, conférencier et biographe britannique. Wilkinson a mené une carrière littéraire remarquable, fréquentant des personnalités telles que les frères Powys, Somerset Maugham et Aleister Crowley.‎

‎First edition. A lovely copy of this first edition work of satirical essays. The opinions of Dexter Foothood on the world. Clean and bright orange and white dust wrapper. A touch of darkening and a few small chips to the bottom edge. Overall though, a very nice example of the scarce wrapper. The book itself is blue cloth with gilt titles. Printed in conformity with the wartime economy standards, but despite this is only slightly darkened. 200 pages. 19.5cm x 13cm. Dexter Foothood is Marlow's semi-autobiographical character. Louis Marlow was the pseudonym of Louis Umfreville Wilkinson (18811966), a British author, lecturer, and biographer. Wilkinson had a notable literary career, associating with prominent figures such as the Powys brothers, Somerset Maugham, and Aleister Crowley.‎
