The Reverend Fletcher was a contemporary of Wesley, and one of Methodism's first great theologians. He was a French Huguenot, (his actual name was Jean Guillaume de la Fléchère.) and came to England in 1740. He spent most of his career as curate of the Parish of Madeley. Although a key Methodist, he always remained loyal to the Church of England.‎
