Bel ensemble de 17 photographies du port dAden, de ses monuments et de sa population vers 1870. Ces tirages sur papier albuminé à partir de plaques de verre sont contrecollés dépoque sur 10 feuilles de carton et légendés au crayon. 8 sont dun grand format sur une feuille et 9 de petit format sue 2 feuilles : 1- « A Aden-la ville noire-panorama » (215 x 250 mm 2- « En rade dAden-bazars arabes-hôtels ». (215 x 250 mm) 3- sur 1 feuille : Les habitants dAden : « fillette arabe », « femme Somali », « Somali », « femme arabe », « Adenien ». Dim (90 x 55 mm) 4-sur 1 feuille : les habitants dAden : « pèlerin arabe », « Somali », « Somali » et « femme Somali » (90 x 55 mm) 5- « Entrée des citernes-le jardin botanique-défense de toucher aux fleurs » (220 x 280 mm) 6- « La grande citerne-Aden » (220 x 275 mm) 7- « Groupes somalis-Arabie ». (215 x 265 mm) 8- « Au marché des chameaux ». (195 x 255 mm) 9- « une arabe » (270 x 230 mm) 10- « Au marché aux chameaux-marchands de bois ». (200 x 250 mm). Les 13 photographies consacrées à la population dAden et à ses activités sont dun grand intérêt ethnographique. Précieuse source iconographique de tirages bien contrastés et en bel état de conservation. 17 original photographs in various formats (from 54 x 93 mm to 280 x 215 mm) printed on albumen paper, captioned in pencil. Mounted on 10 period cardboard sheets measuring 432 x 340 mm (yellowed at the edges). A beautiful set of 17 photographs of the port of Aden, its monuments and its population around 1870. These albumen paper prints from glass plates are mounted on 10 sheets of cardboard and captioned in pencil. Eight are large format on one sheet and nine are small format on two sheets: 1- Adenthe black citypanorama (215 x 250 mm) 2- In the harbor of AdenArab bazaarshotels. (215 x 250 mm) 3- on one sheet: The inhabitants of Aden: Arab girl, Somali woman, Somali, Arab woman, Adenian. Dim (90 x 55 mm) 4- on one sheet: the inhabitants of Aden: Arab pilgrim, Somali, Somali, and Somali woman (90 x 55 mm) 5- Entrance to the cisterns-the botanical garden-do not touch the flowers (220 x 280 mm) 6- The large cistern-Aden (220 x 275 mm) 7- Somali groups-Arabia. (215 x 265 mm) 8- At the camel market. (195 x 255 mm) 9- An Arab woman (270 x 230 mm) 10- At the camel market-wood merchants. (200 x 250 mm). The 13 photographs devoted to the population of Aden and its activities are of great ethnographic interest. A valuable iconographic source of well-contrasted prints in good condition.
