<div class="book-content book-4-couv"><div class="text" itemprop="description"><p>L'Égypte et le Nil ne cessent de faire rêver, comme en témoigne l'illustre adage « l'Égypte est un don du Nil », qui souligne le rôle fondamental de la crue d'autrefois. Renouveler l'exploration de la thématique du rôle central du Nil et de la mer dans la civilisation égyptienne allait de soi dans la tradition égyptologique néo-louvaniste. Les études rassemblées dans ce volume sous la plume d'égyptologues chevronnés offrent une variété d'approches sur ce thème, associant les sources textuelles, iconographiques, géographiques, climatologiques et archéologiques, ainsi qu'une couverture chronologique très large : de la période prédynastique à nos jours.</p><p>Plusieurs axes de perception du Nil et de la mer sont proposés dans cet ouvrage. Le premier concerne la mobilité et le voyage (pèlerinage, commercial ou militaire) que ce soit au sein de l'Égypte-même ou hors de ses frontières. Le second axe de réflexion se focalise sur des éléments philologiques et linguistiques liés au registre de l'eau. Enfin, le dernier axe renvoie au Nil et à la mer et à leur intervention dans le monde mythique.</p><br><p>Egypt and the Nile have never ceased to inspire dreams, as evidenced by the famous statement « Egypt is a gift of the Nile », which underscores the fundamental role of the ancient flood. Renewing the exploration of the theme of the central role of the Nile and the sea in Egyptian civilization was a given in the neo-Louvainist egyptological tradition. The studies gathered in this volume by seasoned egyptologists offer a variety of approaches on this theme, combining textual, iconographic, geographical, climatological, and archaeological sources, as well as a very broad chronological coverage: from the predynastic period to the present day.</p><p>Different perceptions of the Nile and the sea are proposed in this work. The first one concerns mobility and travel (pilgrimage, commercial, or military) whether within Egypt itself or beyond its borders. The second axis of reflection focuses on philological and linguistic elements related to the register of water.
