‎Matthieu Ronsse A Procession of Lobsters‎

‎Matthieu Ronsse (1981) is een Belgisch kunstenaar. Zijn schilderijen lijken vaak onafgewerkt en bevatten referenties naar oude meesters, fragmenten uit zijn priv leven of knipsels uit fotografie- en architectuurboeken. Vaak scheurt hij de werken, of snijdt hij ze in stukken; soms laat hij ze zelfs door regen en wind verweren. Ronsse gaat een confrontatie met de schilderkunst aan en stelt al haar kwaliteiten in vraag ? materialen, technieken, onderwerpen en geschiedenis. Het boek A Procession of Lobsters geeft een overzicht van het werk dat Matthieu Ronsse in situ maakte: in een tankstation in Oudenaarde, in de villa van een verzamelaar, in een cateringbedrijf, in wachttorens en kubussen. Of in zijn eigen huis en ?nomadisch atelier? in Poesthem. Schrijver en dichter Maarten Inghels bezocht al deze plekken en sprak uitgebreid met hun bewoners, Ronsse incluis. Volgens Matthieu Ronsse blijft zijn werk onveranderlijk maar zijn het de bezoekers die veranderen. ?Het is altijd een tango met de omstandigheden.? Maarten Inghels (1988) is schrijver. Met zijn laatste boek Contact (De Bezige Bij, 2018) verbindt Inghels po zie, beeld en performance. Zijn gedichten verschenen als tatoeage (Honger), als enqu te waarin hij de staat van de samenleving opvroeg (Volksbevraging) en werden geplant met eetbare zaadjes (Wanneer wij zomer zaaien in elkaar). Van 2016 tot 2018 was hij de offici le Stadsdichter van Antwerpen. Voor Ludion schreef hij over de ?Biblioteca Del Sol? van kunstenaar Louis De Cordier (2019).‎
