"It has suggested, but without any positive evidence, that some of the earliest drawings in the Botanical Magazine were made by Curtis himself; but William Kilburn and James Sowerby, joined the following year by Sydenham Edwards, were responsible for almost the whole work of the first twenty-eight years - most of it being by Edwards, with Sansom as engraver" (Blunt). - With 6 mounted ex libris labels (library of Mary Ferguson) on the backside of the front covers. - Backs professionally restored. Flying leafs are slightly foxed. Otherwise a clean copy in very good condition.‎
