Première issue, sans la note de bas de page en page 9. La table des planches comptabilise bien 32 planches. 3 feuillets de musique. Reliure en demi veau cerise glacé à coins ca 1870. Dos à nerfs richement orné de feuilles et fleurs, roulettes en queue et tête. Pièce de titre de veau tabac, pièce de tomaison de veau vert sapin. Mors inférieurs des tomes 1 et 2 avec des fendillements et des frottements, mais les mors bien solides et homogènes. Un petit fragment de tête manquant au tome II. Bel exemplaire. Par bien des aspects, l'ouvrage est un guide de Londres, mais c'est également un roman satirique qui présente la vie à Londres au travers des aventures de 3 personnages, Tom Corinthian, Jerry Hawthorne et Bob Logic. Les trois compères visitent ainsi bien des endroits de Londres, leur perception étant victime de leur rang social. Real life in London est en fait une suite et une imitation de Life in London par Pierce Egan, dont on ne connait pas l'auteur.
