Thomas a Kempis (nom latinisé utilisé en français), Thomas von Kempen ou Thomas Hemerken (1380 ?- 24 juillet 1471 ?) est un moine néerlandais du Moyen Âge. On lui attribue l'un des livres de dévotion chrétienne les plus connus, L'Imitation de Jésus-Christ.

5. Parisiis (Paris), Typis J. Barbou, 1764, small in-8°, 15 x 8,5 cm, engraved frontispiece (Marillier) + title with vignet + xi + 417 pp + (3)pp + 4 full page engravings by Marillier, contemporary full leather, smooth gilt back, covers with fine triple gilt fillets, all edges gilt, nothwithstanding a small marginal waterstain at the frontispiece a very fine copy. The first edition of this text dates from 1758. The edition has a very fine typography, at the end is explicitly announced that the book was printed with types from Monsieur Fournier Le Jeune. Not an attractive copy.
