Exceedingly rare collection of Masonic songs composed for lodge use, issued for the Lodge “Socrates zur Standhaftigkeit”. The songs, set for voice with piano accompaniment, were intended for performance at lodge meetings and parties. We have only been able to trace one copy in the trade. The lodge “Socrates zur Standhaftigkeit” was founded in 1801 under a patent from the Berlin “Grossloge Royal York zur Freundschaft“. In 1811, it affiliated with the Frankfurt’s “Grossen Mutterloge des Eklektischen Freimaurerbundes“, of which it remained one of the leading lodges until it ceased its activities in 1934.
