Exceedingly rare first edition of these four very early Masonic speeches delivered from 1753-54 in the St. John’s Mother Lodge of the Swedish Freemasons in Stockholm, the central lodge of the Swedish Rite. Freemasonry in Sweden was introduced by the Swedish Order of Freemasons in 1735 - the oldest still active Swedish fraternal order. It is under royal patronage of the King of Sweden. The speeches discuss the moral and Christian foundations of Freemasonry, the symbolism of the order and the ethical duties. Publications of this type were printed in small numbers for circulation only among lodge members. We have not been able to trace a singly copy in the trade. Not in Wolfstieg.
