‎Presentation-copy for Jean Dérens, inscribed and signed by Kulche, of the catalogue of Kulche's book-bindings, bound in an outright magnificent, modern book binding in Kulche's signature over-the-top-style. The Belgian master bookbinder August Kulche (1927-2003) has contributed to the development of the modern bookbinding for nearly a lifetime. With his life and work, he embodies the ideals and changes that have taken place in bookbinding since the mid-20th century, and his influence reached far beyond Belgium and Frace, where he practiced. His bookbinding expression is unique and novel, and he will no doubt continue to influence new generations of bookbinders even after his death. He was also the teacher of the renowned Belgian bookbinder Edgard Claes. ‎
