Exceedingly rare first edition of the official Danish declaration of war against Sweden issued on behalf of King Frederik III. A seminal document relating to the First Karl Gustav War (Dano–Swedish War) of 1657–58. The text list the political and diplomatic justifications for hostilities, detailing the “unerträglichen Beschwerungen” (intolerable injuries) inflicted by King Charles X Gustav of Sweden and announces that Denmark considers all former treaties, truces and bonds of friendship dissolved.
