First edition of Bolzano’s main work on metaphysics in which he concerned with the question whether we continue to live after death, a defense of the immortality of the soul. Bolzano had his license to teach at the University of Prague revoked in 1819 and the printing of his works was also banned, which also is why the present work was anonymously.
