Inner hinges re-enforced. An overall very nice copy of a binding that is fragile an often in poor condition. Ex libris to inside of front board and neat owner's signature to front free end-paper.

First edition of this legendary publication with its canoniocal front board illustration, Ørsted's poetical magnum opus, which is the greatest poetical rendering of science from the Danish Golden Age. The poem entitled ""The Airship"" is written by the world-famous Danish scientist, Ørsted (Oersted, Örsted), the discoverer of electro-magnetism, who needs no further introduction.
