‎Exceedingly rare commemorative publication containing four panegyrics to Danish Vice-Admiral Jens Just here with a most interesting provenance having been housed in both Hvedholm Castle and Valdemar’s Castle. From 1709 to 1712, Just was the Danish envoy to Tsar Peter the Great, he kept a vividly written diary of his impressions from his time at the Russian imperial court, which was later published 1893. Upon his return he was appointed vice admiral and was soon assigned to the main fleet. In 1715, under the command of Admiral P. Raben, he led the vanguard in a naval battle at Jasmund on August 8. There he was attacked by the defector D. Wilster who had entered Swedish naval service. Juel was struck by a cannonball and died shortly thereafter. He is buried in Roskilde Cathedral in Denmark right below the cannonball that killed him.‎
