Nice set of the fourth 8vo-edition (First published in folio in 1733) of this highly influential work considered a frundamental text in classical dressage and horsemanship. La Gueriniere advocated the use of the shoulder-in at all gaits, including the gallop and stated the rider must also have a good seat in order to have a soft light hand. His teachings emphasized harmony between horse and rider, focusing on the development of balance, suppleness and obedience in the horse through systematic training techniques – the work had a lasting impact on equestrian training methods.
