‎Originaltrykket. I 1772 kunne Asiatisk Kompagni bygge på mere end hundrede års ubrudt kontinuitet, både hvad angik koloniadministration og handel. Dets administration af Tranquebar, Serampore og mindre loger i Bengalen og på Malabarkysten blev i 1777 overtaget af kronen. Det betød en mærkbar besparelse på kompagniets budget, men ikke ændrede vilkår for dets indiske handel. ‎
