« David Lynch m’avait demandé de dessiner des souliers pour son exposition à la Fondation Cartier. Il peignit certains d’entre eux pour les montrer dans une cage. A mon tour, j’ai voulu lui demander d’en photographier d’autres, que j’aurais conçus dans ce but. David Lynch est l’un des plus grands réalisateurs vivants. Comme ses films sont extrêmement codés, j’ai voulu des souliers fétichistes, dont le fantasme obéit lui aussi à des codes. »(102905)
