À travers une sélection de pièces magistrales – peintures, pastels et dessins – l’ouvrage retrace l’itinéraire fulgurant d’un artiste qui fit des paysages alpins le cœur d’une quête à la fois esthétique et spirituelle.</span><br><span>De la Lombardie italienne à la vallée suisse de l’Engadine, Segantini a su saisir la force de la nature et en révéler la dimension symbolique, bien au-delà du réalisme.</span><br><span>Il rêvait d’exposer à Paris à l’occasion de l’Exposition universelle de 1900, projet interrompu par sa mort prématurée en 1899. Plus d’un siècle plus tard, cette monographie rend enfin hommage à son regard visionnaire et à sa manière unique de mettre en dialogue l’homme et la nature, d’une étonnante modernité.</span><br><span>Un cahier de 16 pages offre un contrepoint contemporain.
