Pour le bonheur des générations futures, les deux hommes échangent leurs missions... La suite, c'est une décennie d'épopée éditoriale et un demi-siècle de culture pop (des pulps aux punks) racontés par un artiste qui dévore son sujet et le restitue dans cet alliage néomoderne entre Ligne Claire et Style Atome, qui fit sa gloire dans les pages du mythique Métal Hurlant - dont il fut le Mozart. Graphiquement, narrativement, celui qu'on nommait le dessinateur-espion, le créateur de La Légende du Rock & Roll, de La Nuit du Mocambo et de Meurtre dans le phare, qui donna ses lettres d'élégance à la BD rock, est dans une forme éblouissante. En 230 pages sidérantes, il fait revivre une époque qui fut le levain de la nôtre, marquée par le génie ombrageux des Moebius, Swarte, Chaland, Clash, Sex Pistols et J.-P. Manchette, que l'on retrouve dans cet ouvrage majeur, aussi frais, dispos et vivants que si on les avait quittés hier au bar du Rose Bonbon."
