In Appendice: Some of the specimens of fauna collected by Dr. Lansdell in Chinese Central Asia // Bibliography of Chinese Central Asia (742 titles). Henry Lansdell (1841-1919) was one of the great travellers of the Victorian age. Unlike many explorers of the time, Lansdell was open to different cultures and his travels yielded detailed accounts that were free from the racial and religious prejudices typical of the period. Chinese Central Asia recounts Lansdell's 9,000-mile journey across the Tian Shan Mountains and into Western China, and describes the peoples he encountered, their history and religion, crafts and customs, modes of dress, natural history, trade and medicine. Dalla prefaz. dell'A.: This book is intended to be a companion and complements to my "Russian Central Asia". The area covered by the two works extends all across the continent from the Caspian to the Pacific. By "Chinese Central Asia is meant that portion of the Celestial Empire lying outside the Great Wall.. The main object of my journey was to spy out the land for missionary purposes...Solo qualche lieviss. fioritura, altrimenti esemplare ben conservato.‎
