Het belangrijkste deel van Panamarenko's oeuvre kwam tot stand in zijn atelier annex woonhuis in de Antwerpse Biekorfstraat 2, waar hij meer dan dertig jaar heeft gewoon en gewerkt. Het merkwaardige hoekhuis in de beruchte volksbuurt Seefhoek is net zo bijzonder als het oeuvre van de kunstenaar zelf. Na zijn vertrek uit de stad in 2002, schonk Panamarenko het pand aan het MHKA, en werd gestart met de ontmanteling, renovatie en reconstructie van dit bijzondere stukje erfgoed. De volledige inboedel werd geinventariseerd en gefotografeerd, wat resulteere in dit fascinerende fotoboek. Workstration Biekorfstraat bevat opnames van de meest uiteenlopende objecten, tekeningen, gereedschappen, persoonlijke gebruiksvoorwerpen en historische documenten van de kunstenaar. Het toon de Biekorfstraat 2 als monument van een lange artistieke geschiedenis. The main part of Panamarenko's work was created in his studio and home in the Antwerp Biekorfstraat 2, having spent over thirty years and has just worked. The remarkable corner house in the infamous class area Seefhoek is just as special as the oeuvre of the artist himself. After leaving the city in 2002, donated the property to Panamarenko MHKA, and started the decommissioning, restoration and reconstruction of this unique piece of heritage. The entire contents were inventoried and photographed, which result in this fascinating book.
