‎Shalom Aleichem. From the fair. Moscow, 1946‎

‎In Yiddish. Shalom Aleichem. From the fair. Moscow, 1946. Sholom Aleichem (real name Solomon Naumovich Rabinovich, 18591916) was a Jewish writer and playwright, one of the founders of modern Yiddish fiction, including children's literature. From the fair - this is how the story about life, which is like a fair, can be called. Everyone is inclined in their own way to compare human life with something. One carpenter, for example, once said: Man is like a carpenter: a carpenter lives, lives and dies, so does a person. I once heard from a shoemaker that human life is like a pair of boots: as long as the soles are intact, the boots remain boots, but as soon as the soles are worn out, then the boots are finished. The driver, of course, can compare a person, no offense to be said, with a horse. Therefore, it would not be surprising if a person like me, who spent fifty years in the hustle and bustle of life and decided to tell about it, had the idea to compare his past with a fair. S. Aleichem. SKUMS002032‎

‎Shalom Aleichem. The Enchanted Tailor. Moscow, 1947‎

‎In Yiddish. Shalom Aleichem. The Enchanted Tailor. Moscow, 1947. Sholom Aleichem (real name Solomon Naumovich Rabinovich, 18591916) was a Jewish writer and playwright, one of the founders of modern Yiddish fiction, including children's literature. The tailor Shimen-Ele lived for himself in Zlodeevka and did not know grief until his wife, Tsipe-Beile-Reyza, God bless her, decided to get a goat. And she sent her husband to Kozodoevka to melamed Khaim-Khona Razumnik, whose wife Temi-Gitl the Silencer had two goats, with a proposal to sell one of them. SKUMS002050‎

‎Shalom Aleichem. Mal'chik Motl. / Boy Motl. Moscow, 1947‎

‎"In Yiddish. Short description: halom Aleichem. Boy Motl. Moscow, 1947. Sholom Aleichem (real name Solomon Naumovich Rabinovich, 18591916) was a Jewish writer and playwright, one of the founders of modern Yiddish fiction, including children's literature. Der Emes (Pravda) was a Soviet publishing house that operated from the early 1920s until November 1948. Located in Moscow; during the war years (from 1941 to 1944) was evacuated to Kuibyshev. As of 1941, it was part of the Association of State Book and Magazine Publishing Houses (OGIZ). The publishing house specialized mainly in fiction in the Yiddish language, as well as in translations from Yiddish into Russian. Shortly after the closure of the publishing house, its director L. I. Strongin (18961968), editor-in-chief M. S. Belenky) and some of the rank and file employees were arrested. This story is considered the best children's work of Sholom Aleichem. The hero with childish spontaneity and subtle humor, characteristic of his people, tells the difficult story of his life.
