D’un bout à l’autre, “le Dessin de mode dans Vogue” offre la parfaite illustration de l’art du dessinateur de mode, tel que le concevait Baudelaire : “Si une mode, une coupe de vêtements a été légèrement transformée, si les noeuds de rubans, les boucles ont été détrônés la ceinture a été exhaussée et la jupe amplifiée, croyez qu’à une distance énorme son oeil d’aigle l’a déjà deviné...” Comme le souligne William Packer, le dessin de mode dans “Vogue” frôla souvent le grand art avec René Gruau, Georges Lepape, Polly Francis, Pierre Mourgue, Christian Bérard, Wilaumez...
