Son ouvrage est un vaste tableau qui s'adresse à tous ceux qui aiment l'aventure et la mer car il est l'histoire des clippers américains, des navires anciens et modernes, des premiers vapeurs, des navires de plaisir ou de guerre qui ont flotté sur toutes les mers, portant le pavillon des plus grandes nations terrestres ou maritimes."
