Belle vue du port de Saint-Jean-de-Luz, dessinée et gravée à l'aquatinte par Louis Ambroise Garneray. Peintre, graveur et homme de lettres, Garneray fut avant tout marin même si son père, élève de David, lui enseigna le dessin et la peinture. Après avoir servi sous différents commandements dont celui de Surcouf, il se retrouva pendant huit ans, prisonnier des pontons anglais. De retour au pays, il fut nommé Grand Amiral de France et devint, en 1833, directeur du Musée des Beaux-Arts de Rouen. Bel exemplaire à grandes marges.
