Le livre est illustré de 43 compositions en couleurs, dont 15 hors-texte, par Jean DROIT. Le second volume, qui contient le texte en provençal, n'est pas illustré. Le livre mesure 17x24 cm et pèse 1,900 kg (c) pour 188+CXCIX pages. Reliure d'éditeur souple, Broché. Le livre est en très bon état, dos insolé.
Mirèio raconte les amours contrariées de Vincent, pauvre vannier, et de Mirèio, fille d’un riche propriétaire. Dans son oeuvre, Mistral fait chanter le provençal tout en proposant un parcours de son pays avec ses lieux emblématiques (La Crau, Les Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, Les Baux…), ainsi qu’un aperçu de sa culture, de ses légendes, de ses mythes et du quotidien de ses habitants.
