Deux récits ciselés prenant place au Japon (Madame Chrysanthème, 1887) et en Islande (Pêcheur d'Islande, 1886). Pierre Loti (1850-1923) : pseudonyme de Louis Marie Julien Viaud, romancier, officier de marine, français.
Emboîtage de l'éditeur : plats de percaline vert bouteille estampés avec au premier plat des lettrages or et un portrait en médaillon or ; dos orné, façon demi-chagrin vert bouteille. Très jolie édition, exemplaire complet, en très bel état : la reliure estampée tout autant que les feuillets sont sans dégradations d'aucune sorte.

Grand in-4, imprimé sur vélin à la forme des Papeteries Bernard-Dumas, dans les ateliers spéciaux de l’Imprimerie Brodard & Taupin (Coulommiers-Paris). 8 planches hors-texte et nombreuses illustrations in-texte en phototypie de Duval, coloriées au pochoir par Beaufumé. Exemplaire complet, conservé dans sa chemise rempliée illustrée d’origine. Exemplaire non coupé, tel que paru. Intérieur en très bon état. Importante édition illustrée, emblématique du travail de Méheut sur le monde maritime et breton.
