Edition originale illustrée ; ''recherchée en grand papier''. (in Carteret). Un des 50 exemplaires du tirage numéroté sur Hollande (second papier après les 15 de tête sur Japon) ; recelant à ce titre une suite en noir des 15 eaux-fortes originales de Jean Oberlé. Lequel ''travailla longtemps comme dessinateur pour les principaux journaux et magazines parisiens. Il illustra une vingtaine d'ouvrages d'auteurs contemporains : Colette, Courteline, Carco, Galtier-Boissière, etc. De nombreuses oeuvres de cet artiste figurent dans des musées et collections particulières. Dessinateur plein de fantaisie et d'à-propos, Oberlé était une figure parisienne par excellence''. (in Bénézit). Jeune financier que les cours de la Bourse préoccupent plus que les femmes, Lewis tombe pourtant amoureux d'Irène, issue d'une famille de riches banquiers de Trieste.
