Sous étui bordé. Reliure plein maroquin rouge janséniste. Décor militaire sur le premier plat composé d'une trompette et d'un sabre en filets dorés liés par une cordelette à froid à un Shako mosaïqué de maroquin noir et bleu. Dos à nerfs. Contreplats à double encadrement de maroquin rouge et bleu ainsi que de trois filets dorés. Doublure et gardes en moire bleu ciel.Tranches dorées sur témoins. Couvertures conservées. Reliure signée de Georges Cretté, successeur de Marius Michel.Dos légèrement obscurci.
Paris Javal et Bourdeaux 1926 190 pp Fort in-4 Relié Superbe exemplaire 1 volume BELLE ÉDITION. Un des 75 exemplaires numérotés sur Japon impérial signés par l'illustrateur, deuxième grand papier, illustré de deux suites et d'une décomposition d'une planche.16 aquarelles dont 15 hors-textes de Joseph Hémard gravées sur cuivre par Felzers et imprimées en couleurs au repérage. Y a été joint un dessin original aquarellé d'Albert Guillaume signé. Bel exemplaire dans une superbe reliure de Cretté.Créée par Courteline le 18 février 1895, Les gaîtés de l'Escadron passa mal dans le climat délétère de l'affaire Dreyfus, une partie de la société acceptant mal une charge de plus contre l'armée et la vie de caserne.
