"Il n'y a pas un contemporain qui ait remué plus de passions et suscité plus de commentaires que Charles Maurras." (p. 8) — Par Robert Havard de la Montagne (1877-1963), journaliste royaliste et catholique, auteur d'une "Histoire de la Démocratie Chrétienne" et d'une "Histoire de l'Action Française". Il avait été l'un des premiers rédacteurs du quotidien fondé par Henri Vaugeois, Léon Daudet et Charles Maurras. Entre les deux guerres, il publiait un journal catholique et monarchiste, "Rome", édité dans la capitale italienne. Il collabora ensuite pendant de longues années à "Aspect de la France" où il signait Villedieu. Il était le fils d'Oscar Havard de la Montagne, directeur du "Soleil" en 1913-1914 et ancien dirigeant de la Ligue Française Antimaçonnique.
