Couverture réalisée par John Heartfield. Édition originale. Grand figure de la République de Weimar, Rudolf Olden est un journaliste, écrivain et avocat allemand. En 1933, il participe à une conférence d'écrivains qui s'ouvre le 17 février, à l'Opéra Kroll de Berlin et fait partie des 1500 signataires (artistes, scientifiques, quelques politiques) de la pétition publiée deux jours après, Das Freie Wort (Le mot libre), qui dénonce l'arrivée au pouvoir des nazis. Le 28 février - le lendemain de l'incendie du Reichstag - prévenu par des amis, Rudolf Olden échappe à l'arrestation. Il fuit à Prague et publie de manière anonyme l'essai: "Hitler der Eroberer. Die Entlarvung einer Legende von einem deutschen Politiker." (Hitler le Conquérant. Démystification d’une légende par un homme politique allemand.) imprimé en Tchécoslovaquie. La couverture est en belle condition, l'intérieur étonnamment piqué. [Heartfield Online 1765].
