‎MERY (Joseph)‎
‎1797-1865. Littérateur protéiforme, ami de Balzac, Nerval, Gautier et Dumas, il laisse derrière lui une œuvre en quantité importante. Il est l'auteur de satires en collaboration avec Auguste Barthélemy et d'un grand nombre de romans et de nouvelles aujourd’hui oubliés. Il fut librettiste et écrivit pour le théâtre, notamment La Bataille de Toulouse que Verdi adapta pour son opéra La Battaglia di Legnano. B.A.S. « Méry » à « Mon cher Docteur ».
