Il s'occupa essentiellement des maladies de l'enfance et rédigea plusieurs mémoires ainsi qu'un ouvrage intitulé "Traité clinique et pratique des maladies des enfants (1843)" dont la richesse d'observations le pose en précurseur de la pédiatrie moderne.
