Français d'origine égyptienne, il est directeur scientifique du «Centre international de psychosomatique» qu'il a fondé à la fin des années 1980. Thérapeute, philosophe, peintre et plasticien, Sami-Ali est surtout un théoricien novateur de l'unité psychosomatique, de la psychosomatique relationnelle. Sa pensée de lunité transcende les liens du psychique et du somatique. La pathologie humaine se situe dans sa double appartenance au psychique et au somatique. - Sami-Ali a fondé sa propre école de pensée, quil nomme la «Théorie relationnelle de la psychosomatique». Ses premiers ouvrages (Le Banal, De la Projection, ou de lEspace Imaginaire) font toujours références. Il continue cependant de développer, denrichir son uvre théorique au travers d'autres ouvrages jalonnant le développement de sa pensée comme de sa pratique thérapeutique: de « Penser le somatique » à la fin des années 80 jusquen 2015 à « Convergence ». Il a publié de nombreux ouvrages dont essai d'anthropologie psychanalytique où la réalité clinique égyptienne est présentée comme une contribution à une problématique plus large. Scarce first printings of these seminal papers, the first of which introduces Peirce's quincunical projection, the second of which documents his discovery of hitherto unknown diffraction phenomena called ""ghosts"".The Peirce quincuncial projection (published here for the first time) is a conformal map projection that presents the sphere as a square, which allowed for the displaying of the entire sphere with most areas being recognizable . Peirce called his projection quincuncial, after the arrangement of five items in a quincunx. ""For meteorological, magnetological and other purposes, it is convenient to have a projection of the sphere which shall show the connections of all parts of the surface."" Peirce himself wrote. (American Journal of Mathematics. Volume II. Number 4, 394 pp.)In ""On the Ghosts in Rutherfurd's Diffraction-Spectra"" Peirce documented his discovery of hitherto unknown diffraction phenomena called ""ghosts."" In his spectrum meter experiments, Peirce compared wave-lengths of light with the breadth of a diffraction plate. He used a machine called a comparator, a spectrometer he himself designed, and a diffraction plate designed by Lewis M. Rutherfurd.

Summary Since the early 19th century, European pedagogical theory has stimulated a didactic turn towards the visual as an alternative to textual mediations of knowledge through books and lectures. Pedagogues and policymakers who strove for a more child-centred approach to teaching were soon joined by media producers and marketers in their aim to transform the classroom into a multimodal space for learning. From the turn of the 20th century onwards, teachers were increasingly pressured to incorporate high-profile media technologies such as stereoscopes, lantern and film projectors into their lessons. This collection of essays focuses on European educational light projection, from its first appearance at the end of the nineteenth century through the 1990s, when digital image projection started to gradually replace analogue film, slide and overhead projectors. It explores the classroom use of these technologies. In doing so, it challenges top-down approaches to the introduction of new visual technology and questions discourses that characterize the relation of visual media technology to teachers as one of consumption. The studies in this volume demonstrate how everyday demands and preferences transformed the 'ideal' instructional culture as put forward by policymakers, producers and pedagogues, into distinctive didactic practices that worked around or went beyond the pre-imposed ways of usage of visual media products. The volume moves beyond the view of instructional technology as a one-way route to modernization and teaching efficiency. By laying bare the power relations, interests and ideologies at play, the contributions also lend insight into the intertwinement between politics, media, material culture and classroom practices.
